Reddit talks ad business amid IPO

FEATURE

As Reddit prepares to go public on the New York Stock Exchange the company reveals more about its advertising business in its filing documents.

The platform has 267.5 million weekly active users globally, 131 million of whom are in the US.

Reddit explained that its advertising is built around contextual targeting and user interest, which Reddit expects will become more valuable to advertisers as third-party cookies are phased out of Google Chrome later this year.

The company also sees an opportunity to focus on facilitating and “monetizing commerce”.
