1. TikTok has Amazon in its sights by building a product fulfillment center. Axios reported that more than a dozen jobs were advertised on LinkedIn in the past 2 weeks. (Axios โ๏ธ)

TikTok is planning to launch warehousing, delivery, and customer returns processing as a service. The move will help brands using TikTok to promote products to fulfill their orders. This is another attempt at creating the kind of super-app that pairs Ecommerce and social media, which will have Amazon concerned.
TikTok is already facilitating product discovery. The hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt now has over 25 billion views.
A free returns service was also referenced within one of the job descriptions.
It appears that TikTok plans to use third-party delivery services, as Amazon did initially.
2. Google updates the layout of mobile search results. The 'Ad' label is being replaced on mobile with the word 'Sponsored'. Google explained that this is to be more "prominent and clear" about what is a paid versus organic link. The website name will also show above the landing page URL. Lastly, the size and shape of the favicon are being changed too. (Google โ๏ธ)
3. Pinterest releases a new insights tool for marketers. 'Pinterest Trends' shows what users are searching for on the platform. There are filters for interests, age, and gender to see what's trending for certain segments. Along with fast-growth search queries from the last 90 days. (Pinterest โ๏ธ)
4. Apple is starting to pitch advertisers on their original Apple TV content. Rival services already use ad-supported plans, including Hulu, HBO Max and Peacock. While Disney+ and Netflix are launching theirs later this year. It seems to be a question of when, not if, Apple follows suit. Apple has agreements in place for live sports coverage of MLB and MLS which could be the catalyst for the launch. (Digiday โ๏ธ)
5. Twitter continues to create new ecommerce features with new 'Product Cards' up next. The product cards have been seen in testing. The layout is designed to enable brands to better showcase new products. Then re-direct Twitter users to the brand's store. (Social Media Today โ๏ธ)
