Reddit has become the second most-visited website in the U.S., according to Semrush data for July.
The platform recorded 2.3 billion visits, edging ahead of Facebook’s 2.25 billion. Google remains far ahead with 21.6 billion, while Amazon and Yahoo rounded out the top five.
The traffic surge reflects Reddit’s growing user base: 415 million weekly users and 110 million daily, up 21% year-over-year. That momentum is showing in the business as well - Q2 revenue reached $500 million, a 78% increase, driven by rising advertising demand.
Reddit has also been pushing to reposition itself as a search destination. Features like “Reddit Answers” now use Google’s Gemini model to improve discovery, while ongoing talks with Google suggest a shift from flat licensing toward more dynamic content-sharing deals.
For marketers, Reddit’s latest initiative, “Community Intelligence”, could make the platform a useful lens on consumer sentiment. The social listening tool shows how people talk about products, competitors, and trends in real time.
