Amazon inks second Social Media Ads deal in a week

Last week we learned that Amazon teamed up with Meta to allow users to shop straight from Facebook/Instagram ads. While Amazon already has a partnership in place with Pinterest.

Now Amazon has reached a deal with another social media app, Snapchat.

Customers can choose to link their Snapchat and Amazon accounts. Then users can complete a transaction from the Amazon product ad, without leaving the social app.

Amazon is laying strong foundations with the major social media apps to bring e-commerce functionality to the environment where product discovery increasingly takes place.

"The battle with TikTok is on, and the partnership will help Amazon compete in the more impulse-driven, serendipitous type of shopping that happens on social media," said Jasmine Enberg, a principal analyst at Insider Intelligence.
