Amazon & Meta’s New Ad Partnership

Meta users can shop Amazon products directly from ads on Instagram and Facebook, as part of a new test.

A statement from Amazon cited by Bloomberg & CNBC read:

“For the first time, customers will be able to shop Amazon’s Facebook and Instagram ads and check out with Amazon without leaving the social-media app,”

“Customers will see real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery estimates, and product details on select Amazon product ads in Facebook and Instagram as part of the new experience.”

Both companies have been unable to integrate social media and e-commerce independently. Amazon & Meta coming together is likely a response to fend off TikTok’s integrated e-commerce marketplace, TikTok Shop.
