WhatsApp Channels: Everything You Need To Know

Soon 2 billion-plus users will be able to follow updates from organizations, brands, and public figures on WhatsApp.

‘WhatsApp Channels’, is a new broadcast messaging feature separate from chat messaging.

There is a directory to enable users to discover Channels by country and other metrics like how active they are and how many followers they have.

Channel subscribers get a push notification and react to posts with emojis.

Musicians and companies like Olivia Rodrigo and Netflix, as well as football clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, have already launched.

Since algorithms have limited organic reach on social media, this feature creates a reliable way to connect directly with followers.

Meanwhile, Meta has denied a report for the Financial Times claiming they are planning to bring ads to WhatsApp.
