ā³ April deadline loomsā€”TikTok pushes new features

The TikTok saga continues to unfold. This week, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian announced he will serve as a strategic adviser for a group seeking to acquire TikTok's U.S. operations. Ohanian is advocating for a future where TikTok US ā€œusers own their dataā€ and ā€œcreators own their audiencesā€, with blockchain technology as the foundation.

As the April deadline approaches for TikTok to divest its US assets or face a potential ban, the platform is pushing ahead with creative infrastructure through the launch of TikTok One which is designed to streamline content creation and collaboration.

Hereā€™s what TikTok One now encompasses:

  • Creative Center ā€“ A hub for creative inspiration and AI-powered tools to enhance content production.

  • Creator Marketplace ā€“ A platform connecting brands with TikTok creators for collaborations.

  • Creative Exchange ā€“ A vetted network of creative agencies to help brands produce high-quality content.

While TikTok's US ownership situation remains uncertain, the platform is still investing in facilitating brand-creator partnerships. The company also announced new features for its desktop web application.
