Siri is sticking around. Apple stopped short of fully adopting ChatGPT into its software and Siri will ask users for permission each time before accessing ChatGPT.
Apple clarified that the OpenAI partnership is not exclusive - the company will work with Google Gemini in the future.
An important note for web publishers, Apple also announced 'Highlights' - a new Safari feature that offers instant summaries of web pages. Safari 18 also has a module that provides a "distraction-free" way of browsing in a sidebar that shows a summary and table of contents.
