OpenAI will pay to license content from The Financial Times for ChatGPT

Under the agreement, OpenAI will feature summaries and quotes from Financial Times content and links to articles within ChatGPT. OpenAI will also be able to use the content for training AI models.

The FT Group CEO, John Ridding, said it was “right” that AI companies paid publishers for their content. This is the 5th publisher deal to be made by OpenAI over the past year.

Google CEO says AI overviews are increasing Search usage

Sundar Pichai said “based on our testing, we are encouraged that we are seeing an increase in search usage among people who use the new AI overviews as well as increased user satisfaction with the results.”

X's new video app is coming to smart TVs

The layout resembles YouTube more than a little. X CEO Linda Yaccarino said, "The app aims to bring "real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs". Trending videos show prominently in the teasers. The launch is coming soon.

Amazon Prime & YouTube look to acquire rights for NBA games

The potential deal would begin in 2025 and could last at least 10 years, giving the successful streaming service more sports content. This would mark the first time the NBA distributes its content on a third-party streaming platform.

Threads now has more daily active users than X in the U.S.

Threads has 28 million users compared to X's 22 million in the United States. Globally X is still well ahead with 550 million to Threads' 150 million.
