Netflix is doubling down on advertising

Netflix has almost doubled its ad-supported subscriber base since May, which now totals 70 million.

The plan, priced at $6.99 USD per month, now accounts for more than half of all new Netflix sign-ups in regions where it is available.

Netflix's cheapest plan without advertising costs $15.49 a month.

With the launch of live sports later this week, Netflix expects demand to continue to rise significantly.

Netflix’s in-house advertising technology has now launched in Canada and will roll out globally throughout 2025 to support the growing demand.
