After launching Threads, Zuckerberg said that the app wouldn’t introduce ads until it reached “hundreds of millions” of users.

But it seems Meta is already laying the groundwork for monetization. Code relating to ads has been spotted in the web app despite Threads being projected to have 23.7 monthly active users by the end of 2023.

To accelerate adoption, Meta’s latest growth hack for Threads is featuring them on Facebook. While Instagram received a similar carousel back in August.
