Famous faces play Meta Chat Characters

FEATURE

Meta Uses Public Posts to Train Celebrity Chatbots

Last week, Meta began adding chatbots, which take on characters played by celebrities, across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.

Meta revealed that their new AI assistants were partly trained using public posts on Facebook and Instagram.

ā€˜Private postsā€™ (shared only with family and friends) and private chat messages were excluded.

The role of chatbots is more ā€œabout entertainmentā€ rather than answering search queries, according to Mark Zuckerberg.

For example, MrBeast will play 'Zach', a big brother-type character "who will roast you". Or Tom Brady who plays, ā€˜Bruā€™ a ā€œwisecracking sports debater".

The rollout has begun in the US and developers will soon be able to create their own versions.
