Google Experiments with AI-Based Ad Formats

FEATURE

Google experiments with how ads will appear in the Search Generative Experience

Google’s AI-powered ‘Search Generative Experience’ is still only available on an opt-in basis after being announced in May.

According to Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, ahead of a full roll-out, their teams are focused on “making sure the product works well, and we’re generating value for our ecosystem and that ads transition well”.

Pichai revealed that the company is experimenting with brand new ad formats which are custom-built around the new search experience.

Future Google ads will be “customized to every step” of the AI-based search journey.

TOOLS

The Essential SEO Toolkit 2024: Start, Scale, and Optimize with Positional.

Backed by Y Combinator, Positional provides Marketers powerful tools for growing traffic and scaling an organic search (SEO) channel.

Quick example. Positional’s Content Analytics toolset breaks down user experience metrics, like bounce rate and scroll depth, and scores your pages to show you which ones to improve and where to make those improvements. Meaning you can see where the opportunities are and then use their Optimize toolset to rework those pages for better search performance:

  • You can optimize your content with data-driven recommendations.

  • You can place a call-to-action at a point before most users bounce.

  • You can optimize for long-tail keywords, readability, and more.

But their tool is currently in private beta. Positional is reserving a limited number of spots for readers of The Keyword.

Here is The Keyword’s link to get started.
