Google’s Trial over Search Dominance Begins

The U.S. government is arguing that Google unfairly limits the Search competition. Google signs exclusive deals with phone makers like Apple & Samsung that pre-install Google as the default option.

The U.S. claims Google pays $10bn per year in exchange.

An Executive at DuckDuckGo says it takes 15 steps to choose DuckDuckGo as the default search option on Android.

In a few weeks time, we’ll learn whether the U.S. will intervene and enforce anti-trust rules so that “the next Google” has the incentives and ability to challenge.
