TikTok & Google's New Search Partnership

Google Inside TikTok

FEATURE

TikTok search results pages could soon have a link to Google results.

A TikTok spokesperson confirmed the company is experimenting with third-party integrations, including a test with Google.

As shown above, when certain users search on the TikTok app, there is an option to search the same phrase on Google too. Clicking the link takes the user to an in-app browser, which displays Google's search results for the query.

Google is aiming to make their search engine more visual and part of that has been the inclusion of TikTok videos in their results. And now we see the partnership working the other way, with TikTok potentially driving more traffic to Google.

This also comes after The Verge reported that TikTok has also been inserting Wikipedia snippets into their search results.
