The rebrand is just the beginning. X will take over Twitterâs legacy as being the âglobal town squareâ. But the vision goes much further.
CEO, Linda Yaccarino, said the major changes of the early Musk era are paying creators a share of ad revenue, longer-form video, and articles.
The next phase takes X beyond advertising, media, and messaging.
The ambition is to fully serve peopleâs financial needs, including banking and digital payments. Musk founded an early digital payments company that merged with PayPal and is leading the division internally.
In the short run, the priority is still to try to repair the relationship with advertisers. Yaccarino recently brought back their âclient councilâ to get marketing and ad agency execs around the table. And she announced new brand safety controls last week.
