1. Google launches a new image-based Search tool. ‘Multisearch’ allows users to take a photo, add text, or query, then Google will use both elements to generate relevant results.

2. NextDoor creates a new advertising platform aimed at SMBs. The simplified experience allows local businesses to promote themselves to people within a 30-mile radius. Nextdoor is trying to better serve the ‘72% of U.S adults’ who are making it more of a priority to support local businesses compared to pre-pandemic.

3. Google gives retailers the capabilities of Google’s search engine on their own domains. Ecommerce stores can use Google’s ‘Retail Search’ tool to power their on-site product searches as a way to improve accuracy. 

4. Shopify acquires Dovetale to manage creator-brand partnerships. The app enables merchants to recruit influencers and manage the affiliate partnership. The app is now free to use.

5. Twitter announces 3 new ad format pilots, including a 3D unit. ‘Product Explorer Ads’ enables users to rotate and view a 3D model of the product at different angles. ‘Interactive Ads’ (bolder text typefaces) & ‘Collection Ads’ (product carousel) were also announced.
