1. TikTok tweeted that they are expanding the ‘Friends Tab’. The feature is designed to improve friend networks on the app. Making it easier to watch content from connections. The Friends tab is expected to replace the ‘Discover’ tab.
2. Amazon debuts virtual product placements in Amazon Prime Video shows. The product placement beta allows advertisers to insert products into shows such as Reacher, Tom Clancy & Bosch. Typically product placement requires months or years of planning. With virtual product placements, producers can add products post-production. And find natural spots to feature the products.
Last week, Amazon rebranded its free streamer IMDb TV as Freevee, and yesterday at its #NewFronts event, it announced a host of original programming for the platform.

3. Twitter announces new ad format ‘Tweet Replies’. Advertisers can show ads under the first reply to a tweet to reach people engaging with the content. Initially, these ads can only be used for App Installs, but Twitter is exploring other campaign objectives too.
4. Snapchat creates a new advertising program with Cameo. Snapchat’s advertisers can partner with Cameo’s celebrity talent to create custom video ads. Advertisers can more easily pitch Cameo’s 45,000 celebs to endorse their products on Snapchat.
5. TikTok allows brands to place ads next to the top-performing videos on the platform AND shares 50% of the revenue with the creators. ‘TikTok Pulse’ allows advertisers to appear next to only the top 4% of videos on TikTok. The program will launch to US advertisers in June.
