Apple answers EUās gatekeeper rules
FEATURE
iPhone and iPad users in the European Union will soon be able to download apps from alternative sources to Appleās App Store.
Apps in the EU no longer need to use Appleās payment processing either, which charges commissions of up to 30% on transactions.
Instead, if a company uses an alternative app store and payment processes Apple will not charge a Commission. However if an app exceeds 1 million installs in a year, Apple will charge ā¬0.50 per install as a āCore Technology Feeā.
Last year, Meta confirmed their interest in creating an app store. Which could free them from the tracking restrictions imposed on them by Apple with ATT.
